Ann Marie Abraham, age 67, died Thursday, August 22, 2019 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens. She was born on April 8, 1952 to the late Richard August and Mary Louise (nee: Thomas) Abraham.
Ann Marie graduated from East Detroit High School in 1970. In 1974 she graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit with a Bachelor’s in Science. In 1986 she received her Master’s degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. She was a Science Teacher and taught at Goldberg Elementary and Gabriel Richard in Detroit. She retired after 32 years in 2006.
Ann Marie was an extremely active parishioner at her church, St. Basil the Great. Ann Marie was a secretary for the St. Vincent de Paul program through St. Basil. She took part in the Ladies Guild at St Basil as well as being a Lector. Ann Marie was also a facilitator for Discovering Christ.
When Ann Marie had some free time, she enjoyed scrap-booking, gardening and card making. She had a true talent for crafts and arts.
Ann Marie, a woman of faith and many talents, will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.
Ann Marie was the loving sister of Peter (Sue) Abraham, Betty (Brent) Grantham, and the late Tom Abraham. Cherished aunt of Kate. She was also the dear friend of Karen Kielasa-Frontera, Larry Frontera, Joe Kielasa, and Kiyo Kielasa.
Visitation for Ann Marie will be held on Wednesday, August 28 from 3 pm to 8 pm with a 7 pm Scripture Service at Chas. Verheyden Funeral Homes - Schultz Chapel, 21705 Gratiot Ave, Eastpointe 48021. Ann Marie will lie instate on Thursday, August 29 from 9:30 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 22851 Lexington Ave, Easpointe 48021. A private burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
