Obituary

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Baron Ray Ferrell announces his passing on May 31, 2019, at the age of 48. Baron will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Grant and Stephenie Ruttinger, his sisters Lydia Ferrell-Morin (Phil) and Nora Markijohn (Mike), his two nephews Zachary and Grant, and his birth mother Harriett Ferrell. He will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers. Baron also leaves behind his dog Watson and two cats, Loki and Whisper.
A native of Detroit, Baron graduated from Bishop Gallagher High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Wayne State University. He served as the salon manager for Tresses Hair Salon for more than 20 years.
Baron was known for his infectious laugh, artistic talents, love of animals and Star Wars Lego collection. He enjoyed spending time with his family and took the central role in organizing many family gatherings to celebrate holidays and birthdays. He also always managed to give the most hilarious birthday cards.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Baron’s honor to the Michigan Humane Society.

I just learned of Baron's passing today. My heart sank. I worked with Baron at Charles Warren Jewelers. I have such great memories of working with him and our friendship. He was always so happy and kind. My deepest sympathy to his family.

You are missed my many of which I am one. All those humorous phone calls and laughter in the salon when I arrived or departed. So very sorry for the loss your family and friends must be feeling.

My sincere condolences to the family of Baron. From the moment I heard him on the phone when he answered at Tresses, I knew he was a great person. I so enjoyed talking to him every single time I saw him. He will be truly missed and was taken from this world way too soon. Find comfort in knowing that he touched the lives in such a positive way of so many people. God rest his soul.

We are incredibly sad to hear of Baron's passing. He was such a joy to talk with at the Salon. I'll miss Watson and Wendell's (our dog) little visits at the shop. Our deepest sympathy goes to the family and friends.
